September 2024
I am writing this letter to express how grateful we are to have Marty Miller perform at our facility. We enjoy Marty and his wife every time they come to visit us. Marty recently came to perform during our annual car show and did a spectacular job. His songs are well composed and are appealing to our residents and family.
Marty has a positive attitude and interacts with everyone.

It's always so fun to have Marty and Jan come play at our homes.  They interact with the residents in such a great way even when the residents don't feel like interacting (it happens)!  By the time they're done playing almost everyone is tapping their feet or singing.  His songs are appropriate and he also takes requests...if he doesn't know it he'll learn it for the next time.  So appreciative he includes us in his tours and also his commitment to spreading cheer to the elderly.  They have a tough schedule but truly enjoy what they're doing and it shows.

Marty Miller’s program is such a fun, wonderful way to spend an afternoon. His voice is so pleasant (his “God Bless America” is stunning!), and he plays such a variety of music for every genre of music that people may enjoy. He also plays traditional songs that everyone knows, such as “She’ll Be Coming Around the Mountain,” but he does it in such an artistic way that it feels like we’re just enjoying tunes on the radio! He was also so welcoming to our residents; getting to know everyone by name and made them feel included in his performance. He and his partner in crime, Jan, were gracious and I can’t wait to have them back again!

I am the Life Engagement Director at a MEMORY CARE community in Lansing. I hire many entertainers for our weekly Happy Hours and other events. Marty Miller has performed at my community, THE RIDGE at LANSING many times. I consider Marty to be one of our most valuable and exceptional entertainers on my list. Marty has a great energy about him, he is very friendly and has a wonderful singing voice. I am especially impressed how Marty interacts with his audience- he takes the time to learn each of our residents’ names and makes each one of them feel special! We absolutely LOVE all the songs Marty sings. His music includes a wonderful variety of songs that is pleasing to all my residents. His talent and voice are quite remarkable, as every song he sings leads our residents to dance in their seats, clap and sing along. Marty is a remarkable entertainer who obviously loves what he does! I personally recommend Marty and guarantee he would make any event worthwhile.

Marty came to our facility for the first time and we had such a blast! To see the way he interacted with and connected to our residents here at Grand Pines was very special. Marty even took the time to try and learn some of their names, which I thought was a great personal touch. We would definitely love to have Marty back to Grand Pines for another concert!

Marty and Jan,
The residents here at the Village at Appledorn absolutely loved your show. Immediately following, they were asking me to get you on the schedule again.
The oldies bring back so many good memories for them. One of our residents said that you sang an Elvis song that reminded her of going to the drive ins with her late husband. She said it almost brought tears to her eyes.
It was fun watching some of the residents dancing to “My Girl”, as we do a routine to the song in our weekly exercise class.
You have a great gift, remembering so many residents’ names. You really made them feel seen and important.
We can’t wait for you to visit both our East and West building again in the very near future.
Thank you,

I would highly recommend Marty to come to your facility! He puts on a great interactive show and it keeps the residents engaged! Marty performs a great selection of songs such as oldies, patriotic, religious hymns, songs from 30s-40s, etc. Marty is a great singer and guitarist! When he came to Crestwood to perform, he greeted each resident individually as they came into the concert, which made them feel welcome! Marty was great at keeping the residents engaged during the concert. He encouraged them to sing along if they knew the songs or tap their feet or dance in their chairs. He also gave little pieces of history about songs he was going to sing/play on guitar and asked residents questions in between songs to also keep them engaged. You can see that Marty enjoys what he does, and it shows through his performance and interaction with the residents! After the concert Marty thanked each resident for coming and thanked us for sharing our time with him. Marty was so gracious and took the time to visit with the residents who came up to talk with him after the concert! Overall it was a great concert and experience for our residents at Crestwood!!!!!

Marty and his wife Jan came to my facility to perform for my residents.  They were punctual and professional.  The talent these individuals have is refreshing.  They interacted with my residents, kept them entertained and singing along with every song.  The time flew by with all of the fun had by all.  I would definitely have them back.  It was a great experience; my residents are still talking about the concert.

Marty was here at The Woodlands of DeWitt for a Valentine's Day Concert. He sang songs of love that the residents knew and could relate to. They really enjoyed their time with him. Several of the residents told me how wonderful it was to have songs they could sing along with. Also, Marty has an incredible ability to retain people’s names, so that made him more personable to the residents. Thank you, Marty, for sharing your gift of music with our residents.

Our residents loved Marty’s performance! Marty was on time, professional, engaging, interactive, and above all, talented. He took the time to actually learn the names of the residents who came down, and had fun remembering all the names at the end of the concert. He played music we all knew and were able to sing along with, as well as one of his own originals which was deeply moving. We would love to have Marty back any time!

Marty Miller came to our nursing facility Bay Bluffs in August 2022. Our residents have not been able to have much entertainment with Covid restrictions. They absolutely loved his performance! He was personable, wanting to bring the residents into his performance. They sang and danced along. The song choices were perfect for our group of people. We would have him back anytime! Even the staff enjoyed him and already asked when he can come back! Thank you Marty for putting a smile on our residents faces!!

StoryPoint has had the pleasure of hosting Marty Miller for several years. The residents enjoy his music but more so his ability to engage his audience. During Covid, when we were unable to have performers inside, Marty made the effort to share his needed gift of song and warmth on occasion and cheer the spirits of those brave enough to venture into the elements of weather. We appreciate his honest and sincere time and talent.

Hi Marty. We thought the concert was amazing!!!! The residents loved it and had so much fun!! The Christmas music represented so many genres, fast and fun, sentimental and classic, which kept the whole program moving.  I wish more residents would have joined us. I think we will do it again next year and hopefully we can invite families and have more residents attend. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and can't wait for your next performance this summer!!!

When I came on board with this newly opened Riley's Grove Assisted Living Community in Zeeland, MI  I knew immediately that music needed to be a part of this community and if possible, Marty would be one of our regular performers. Over the years I have welcomed performers into various communities who really relate to the residents. Then there are also those performers who are skilled and gifted musicians both instrumentally and vocally. Marty is all of these things. His vocals match his instrumental skills. His performances are album worthy. But he gives much more than a performance. He interacts with and engages his audience as well. I would go to see Marty at a large stage performance. I am grateful that, with this level of skill, he has the desire to come perform for small audiences in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Marty's outdoor concert was perfect for our residents! The song selection was a great mix of titles and genres, so everyone got to enjoy a favorite. We couldn't keep from getting up and dancing through almost the whole concert! What a wonderful summer day for a concert with Marty & Jan Miller at Christian Care Assisted Living!  Marty & Jan arrived and setup so that they were not mixing with the Residents when the Residents came outside.  With Marty’s music system the Residents could be socially distanced 12 ft or more away from him and still could hear great!  He played wonderful music they could all relate to and the toe tapping and singing along was fantastic to see!  It was so nice to be able to share music again with each other even socially distanced outside.

Words don't capture just how much our residents needed the outdoor concert you put on! After months of lockdown and being confined largely to their apartments, the concert was both literally and figuratively a breath of fresh air! It brought such joy to our hearts to see them dancing and swaying to the music, singing along with smiles all around. Nothing lifts their spirits quite like music, and your performance seemed to truly reenergize them. This has been a very tough year for all of them, and getting outside and hearing you play those songs they love... well it's no exaggeration to say that it brought them hope.
You even remembered their names! That was such a heart-warming moment, to see you go through the crowd, calling out to them. They were all abuzz after the show, thanking us over and over again for having you come, and saying how wonderful it had been to get outside on a beautiful day and hear you play for them. We can't thank you enough for sowing that amount of life into our residents here at Independence Village! You have a very special gift, and we're grateful that you share it with the senior community. I hope that other facilities are able to have you come and do the same for them!

Marty came with his wife, Jan, and they did an OUTDOOR concert here at Samaritas. The residents loved it. They were singing along and some of them would hear a specific song and reminisce about it from their childhood. IE: One song was a great memory to a resident. She talked about how her mom and dad would sing the song to each other when she was a child. One of the residents was dancing in the sun, while singing the songs. She was in her glory. She was flying high the whole day and still talks about it. Marty plays a variety of music and it seems to touch each person somehow. Great concert!

Marty has been doing programs for us here at Bishop Hills Assisted Living for about 5 years now. He is always on time and ready to perform at the set time. He interacts well with our residents, going around before the program and greeting the residents. He even gets to know all their names! He has a nice sounds system and makes sure to set the volume so it's comfortable as best as possible for everyone. Marty has a wonderful singing voice and has a nice variety of songs, good oldies and hymns with a newer twist. I would highly recommend Marty for any music programs.

Marty came and performed for our residents here at Grace Haven around Christmas time. As much as everyone likes Christmas music a lot of it is heard over and over again. However Marty does a fantastic job of making the songs sound unique and fun. He adds his own way of making the song something new to listen to and enjoy. My residents had such a wonderful time singing and a few even danced along. Lastly Marty was very flexible when it came to scheduling what day and time he would come in to perform. Thank you Marty for all you have done for us.

We definitely want him to come back to sing for us again.

Marty’s concerts never disappoint! He takes the time to introduce himself to each Elder as they come in and does a fantastic job interacting with them throughout the whole performance. It was so wonderful to see the room packed full of smiling, laughing, and singing Elders. There were multiple Elders who came up to me just raving about the performance stating they sang just about every word. Even the staff were talking about how wonderful the performance was.

Marty spent time talking to our residents and asking their names before he started to perform.  During his performance he would occasionally say something to one of the residents, using their name.  Marty encouraged them to sing along with him, and complimented them on their singing.  His performance included a nice mix of old standards, gospel music, and country.  We will definitely have him back.

Marty Miller performed here at Green Acres of Mt Pleasant (a retirement community) for our Ladies Brunch & Tea – in honor of mother’s day. Our residents, resident families, and staff all enjoyed the performance. The music he provided and the atmosphere he created was perfectly tailored to our event! He was also extremely mindful of volume and playing what the crowd liked – which is so important when playing for the elderly population. We all thoroughly enjoyed having him and plan to have him back in the future! Can’t go wrong with a concert by Marty Miller!

Mary Miller came to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and held a holiday performance for some of our members and he was terrific! The members had nothing but positive things to say about him and his singing. Not only is Marty a great singer but he is also an awesome performer and entertainer. He connected well with all the members and made each person feel a part of the show. We would definitely recommend Marty to anyone looking for an all-around wonderful performer. We are already looking forward to him returning here in the near future!

Dear Marty, We at the Grande are so excited that you took the time to stop by with your busy schedule to sing for us. The residents all thought you sounded just like James Taylor and the ladies said you were easy on the eyes! We look forward to you coming to sing for us next year. It’s a shame you don’t live close so we could have a concert more often with your beautiful voice and your expertise at playing guitar. Thanks again so much for sharing a beautiful concert with us and we pray for safe travel as you bless others with your gifts and talents and as you travel back to your home.
